Kevin R. Berry

Kevin R. Berry, 44, died July 27, 2015 as a result of complications from injuries sustained in Thailand.

He was born April 20, 1971, the son of Donn and Barbara Berry. He graduated from Weymouth South High School in 1989, where he was known to most as a true and loyal friend.  Kevin was the man that never left your side.  He was the first to lend a helping hand, and the last to leave when a situation became too complicated for most.  His loyalty to family and friends was remarkable and without boundaries.

Kevin was a member of Local 103, I.B.E.W.  He worked his way through the rigorous apprentice program and earned his Electrical License.  Kevin worked for various contractors in Boston, until he decided to bring his electrical skills overseas to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Somalia to support out Troops in 2008, for civilian contractors. Kevin was embedded with our Navy Seals and Special Forces Group.  He received letters of recommendation and commendation for his exceptional project management, leadership and dedication to high standards in rewiring existing structures that directly contributed to the success of Operation Detachment Alpha, (ODA).  Executive Officers from the ARMY, Air Force and Navy praised Kevin and continually gave their highest endorsement to him for his exceptional knowledge of Power Generators, electrical code standards, and his overall commitment to excellence.

Kevin is survived by his parents Donn and Barbara of Weymouth; his four brothers Billy of Pembroke, Shawn and his wife Karen of Pepperell, James and his wife Karen of Weymouth and Timothy and his wife Dorrie of Weymouth.  He is also survived by his beloved son, Jonathan, who was always the center of Kevin’s world. Many nieces and nephews will miss his light hearted comic approach at family gatherings.  Kevin always found a reason to laugh and love.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Cremation will follow.
