I share my deepest condolences to Doris’ family. I so enjoyed learning from her experience and from her leadership when we served on the NFPA board of directors together. She knew the system and wasn’t afraid to share her opinions about it. That is what I most admired about her. She will always have a place in my heart.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I was a member of the NFPA and got to know Doris who was tireless leader and teacher of many parents. She was very much respected by all who knew her. May she rest in peace!

Wow! A fluke chance encounter and I just came on this looking for another's passing. Oh.. the memories, the memories, the memories from them early years in moving to Quincy. It doesn't stretch my perspective to say it seemed to evolve around Manet Ave w/ The Marshalls' and the Gendreua's adobe. Them summer get aways with the foster families. Not much time goes by in a year when I don't find myself in a reflective melancholy taking me back to them days. I've often wondered how you all are doing and what. tempus fugit. DOris, Skip and family bring back happy reflections. Very sorry to hear of Doris's passing. Vaya Con Dios, Doris. Arlene and family I will always remember your mom from when I first moved to,Dorchester from Southie. Arlene you were the first friend I made and your mom was always so welcoming, then after a few weeks she put me to work right along side you. Jennifer and family, Thoughts and prayers with you all. She simply was a beautiful force, who left a powerful legacy and will be dearly missed.

Our sympathies to the Marshall family. We have wonderful memories of her. Her great laugh, family cookouts (where she always arrived with a bunch of "her kids" complete with a play yard), seeing her in the Stop & Shop with at least two shopping carriages full of food with Skip by her side, and her generosity and compassion for others. She will be missed. We will always keep these memories in our hearts. God bless you Doris.
