Condolences to the Family of Barbara J. Gong

2020

Gong family, No simple words can sooth the heartache over the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother, but I am truly sorry for your loss. I have nothing, but immense gratitude toward Barbara for building such a wonderful family with George by her side. What a loving legacy she has left behind! Christopher, thank you for allowing me to meet your mother and for sharing with me stories of your childhood adventures together. They make it very clear you learned your sense of wanderlust and dogged devotion to family from your mother. I hope you will find comfort in these memories as her spirit lives on in you and yours now that she is at peace.

It's always so hard to find the words to say about these things, but I will try. I saw that picture of her at the top and it all came back to me, as if I just saw her yesterday - although it has been years. I remember she was always so nice to me, even when I was an obnoxious teenager hanging around at the house. I definitely remember all the amazing antiques she used to have around. She had a great eye for them, and everything was always fascinating in one way or another to me. I wanted to send you a card, Mr. Gong, but given the current situation I didn't want to put you at any risk. I remember her fondly and will continue to do so. My deepest condolences to everyone in the family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I grew up in Weymouth & for many years lived next to the Letson home. I am sorry to read of Barbara’s passing - she was a lovely person, always a pleasure talking with her when she visited her family. All good memories of the Letson family - Barbara, Mr & Mrs Letson, Bruce & Gary. So sorry for your loss.
