Condolences to the Family of Alvin W. Jobes “Al Jobz”

2020

I visited Al the day before he died. He was cognizant but very tired and could speak but was on a heart lung assist with medically very limited prospects. He had had a heart attack about 3 weeks before and then had a stroke the night before I saw him. His daughter, Sabrina with his sister, Van made what had to be one of the most difficult decisions anyone could be asked to make for their father and brother. Al started singing with White Heat Swing Orchestra ever since we were at the Roxy in Boston in the early '90s. He was a good friend and good right hand man to have on the band-stand. With a depth of experience from his own groups, he was a great help in making a performance smooth with the right pick for the next song and I always felt I had a friend with me even at the more stressful types of event.

So sorry to hear of Al's passing. I have had the pleasure of working with Al for the past 20 years, and he became more of a friend than a sales rep. I always enjoyed our meetings that would start with a long conversation about our families and what was happening in our daily lives. Al, was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

So sorry to hear about Al. I always had fun playing with him and the band for parties in the 90's. He was always very appreciative and easy to work with. Sorry that we havn't stayed in touch over the years. My heart felt condolences go out to his family and friends. Best Wishes

Alvin was a good friend and fellow student of the class of 1970 at Union Springs Academy. Enjoyed being in the touring choir and the band with Al. He was kind and thoughtful to me. He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers and with all the family and special friends.
