Condolences to the Family of Stephen V. Oliva

2020

I’m at a loss for words to know you are no longer here Steve. I am the mother of a young man by which you measured your proudest achievements & although he gave you many headaches I know he made you proud. We often joked that you should be allowed to claim my son on your taxes because of all you did. Even after your retirement you kept in touch frequently & made sure my family was ok & always ended our calls letting me know to call you whenever I needed you & you meant it!!!! We last spoke at Christmas. You were there for high school graduation & our celebratory lunch after. I will always remember you for all you did, the positive impact you had on my sons life, your love of sports & our many many memories we shared throughout the years. My sincerest condolences to Steve’s family. He was a staple in our family & will sorely be missed. We love you Steve!!!! You will always hold a special place in my heart for all you meant & all you did!!!!

I can vividly recall the last time I saw Stevie. It was a few years ago, and he was swinging a beach chair in one hand and a beach towel in the other as he made his way along Atlantic Ave to Gun Rock. He was so happy to be with the Downey crew for another fun weekend. Sending my condolences and deepest sympathies.

Our hearts go out to Steve’s entire family at his sudden passing. Working with Steve the past 20 years he definitely made a huge impact in our lives. A great friend to all, full of advice and stories that were always personal to each friendship. We will think of him often with fond memories and smiles in our hearts. Rest peacefully our friend.
