Those blessed to know and/or study with this wonderful woman have been profoundly impacted and irrevocably transformed: characterized by her warm, gracious style, Mrs. Stevens was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. May our cherished memories of her gentle loving kindness forever remain alive in our hearts. May the image of the morning doves released after her body was laid to rest forever remain in our minds. I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Steven’s passing. She was a kind and patient music teacher who gave viola lessons to me and my brother. She never failed to convey her love of music and always brought the best in every student she taught. I wish all of her family the best during this difficult time and will always remember her with great fondness.

We are all so very sad to learn of Bertha's passing. What a truly grand lady she was! Both my children, Surekha and Shaan Gajria, learned to play their violas under her kind and encouraging tutelage and both my husband and I were always so impressed with the carefully orchestrated end of year recital which both she and Herb lovingly put together. When Bertha herself picked up her instrument to play for us, it never failed to bring a tear to my eye. She played with such sensitivity and passion. We send you our most sincere condolences and will always cherish our memories of her.
