Condolences to the Family of Edward P. Fitzgerald

2018

To Gerri, Scott, Shirley, Donna, Bill and extended family - Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We enjoyed more than our fair share of laughs with Fitzie. And, there was never a dull moment once he started playing the piano. He was a great guy! Thanks for the memories!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Gerry, Donna Scott, Ryan and the rest of the family, we loved Fitzy's happy disposition and great jokes, he could always make everyone one laugh, no matter the circumstances he'd throw his two cents in and give us a good chuckle, he also was great with numbers, he did our taxes for YEARS, so we have to find a new taxman, but, no one will ever be as organized as Fitzy was with our tax "folder" that he made us, and we'd just hand it back to him every year with the new numbers and he'd call back that SAME day, like a an hour or two later, and he'd give me back that folder and tell us where to sign and what we were getting back, I'm never going to find service like that anywhere, lol! And every year I gave him a gift cert.from a different restaurant, and he'd get excited to guess where it was from, so he could try a new "joint" out with Gerry or RYAN if she didn't to go. Fitzy also acted like a father figure when my Dad died, he once said to me," Moe was my best friend, anything I can do to help you, I will" and he did, he always called me back when I'd leave a message (LOL) as soon as he could, Fitzy has been there for me my entire life, he's going to be sorely missed by ME and MICK!!!!!

Dear Bill and Margaret, I am so sorry to hear about your brother Eddie. He was such a talented man; I enjoyed his company the few times I was with him. - Love, Arlene and family

Who else from Southie ever earned four academic degrees from four separate universities, one of them Summa cum Laude? Fitz was an altar boy at Gate of Heaven with a marvelous voice and if you think that meant he was some sissy, once he learned how to box down in Chinatown at the Tyler St. gym, nobody ever beat or bothered Eddie Fitz in Southie, a tough place to grow up. Not a bad baseball player either, first string. One kid name Buccigras threw a fastball nobody could hit except one day Fitz swung and WHACK you could hear it down at Castle Island and that ball went up towards left center field and nobody knows whatever happened to it -- they're still looking for it. Good football player too for the City Point Wildcats -- first string lineman. Use to sing with a group called the Castle Island Trio made up of Roger Murphy, his bother Bill Fitz and him and they'd sing at several venues around town, especially at Dorgan's Old Harbor House to very contented customers. I could go on -- this is too long. He's in Heaven being presented with a Golden Piano about to entertain some of our best friends and sorry are they who misbehaved, failed to make confession, and find themselves in the other place.
