I am so very sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He and I worked together at the License Commission when I was a new employee. His early guidance and strong moral compass continues to guide me today. I have thought of him frequently over the years and fondly remember many of the early morning conversations we had about family (Tuesday night dinners with his family and his garage filled with supplies), work (document, document, document) and life beyond the office (SBYC and "you don't know what a spucky is???"). He was a true gentleman and friend who made a positive impact on many. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Fred was our leader and captain on the immortal team known notoriously as the City Point Wildcats. He was behind you all the way--behind the plate as our catcher in baseball calling all the shots, and behind center as our quarterback calling all the plays. Quietly and gracefully, he taught us to play rugged but play fair. And so we did and won so many and lost so few. He was the best of us, the best of the Black and Gold. God Bless you, Captain.

My fondest memory of Fred was playing blackjack with him in Aruba. He won, I did not, but had such fun. The next day he sat down at the piano in the lobby and entertained everyone. Fun guy. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Love and prayers to all.
