Condolences to the Family of Alexander D. “Sandy” Visser

2021

I had Mr. Visser for my 6th grade advanced class and he was the best teacher I ever had. We had so many challenging puzzles and projects, and he taught us so many interesting things at the Edmund P. Tileston School in 1969-70.

I just heard of the passing of Sandy this past weekend. I well remember the visits to Nova Scotia from your family to ours in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and to Antigonish in past years. He still has cousins living in Nova Scotia who also did not hear of his passing. I often wonder about Betsy and wondered if she was still living.

I just stumbled on this obit and was so taken aback, and so taken back in time. Mr. Visser was my 4th grade teacher and my favorite teacher of all time. It is no exaggeration to say that the foundation for my academic and professional success was forged in no small part in Mr .Visser's 4th grade class in 1964 at the Roosevelt school. I was also in Rona's girl scout troop for a few years, and we had a blast. (Camp Kirby!) Time flies. Peace and love to the Visser family.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I sat next to Sandy at meetings for many years at the Lynn Camera Club.

Dear Mrs. Visser, Roger and I send our deepest condolences to you and all your family. We have fond memories of talking with you and Mr. Visser at breakfast in the hotel the morning after Malcolm and Sharon's wedding. Roger, son Andrew, and I had such fun taking care of Lindsay, Austin, and Graham during the wedding, and getting to see everybody else in the family that weekend (with the exception of Cameron, Kyle, and Rachel who came along a few years later). I will always remember Mr. Visser's smile and friendly conversation (and yours, also) at that time and also other times over the years. Our hearts are with you in your loss. May God bless and comfort each of you. Love, Mary Mac Auman McLean (Beth's sister)
