Condolences to the Family of John Robert “Bob” McGrory

2017

To Jeanne, Jack and all the McGrory ladies and their families a heartfelt expression of my sympathy to you in the passing of one of my dearest old friend and co-worker. I shall never forget the fun loving association my late wife Margie and I along with our children had with such a loving McGrory family. I am so sorry I learned of his passing too late to attend his services. MAY HE REST IN PEACE

Regretfully I will not be able to make Bob's services but am compelled to share my fond memories and appreciation of Bob, and all the McGrorys, in the lives of Scannell family. Bob's infectious laughter and constant smile were there throughout all of our childhoods. Whether at the beach, the pool, cookouts, and other occasions, we all sought Bob out for that booming laugh. I remember many a day coming home from school and seeing Bob's massive yellow work truck visiting his cousin Bobbi (Barbara). When we would come in the kitchen he would extend his hand and ask you with great intent how things were going in school. In my case I, and for good reason, I would change the subject quickly saying something irreverent just hear that laugh as he called me a horses ass. Bob didn't have a mean bone in his body and it was not until much later in my life that I found out why. In his heroic service to his country as very young man he witness far to much of WWII meanness. The Scannells have been lucky to have Bob and all the McGrory in our lives.
