Condolences to the Family of Robert P. Swanson

2017

Swanny was such an affable and fun guy to be with. When we worked together at the Boston Globe, it was such a treat when we went out together to lunch. Although we hadn't gotten together recently, I thought of Swanny a lot and thought a lot of him. I will really miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with Swanny and his loved ones. --Pete

I was lucky to know Bob from working with him at the Globe. Their are a handful of people you meet in life - which are blessed with a spirit that never ages... Bob was such a soul. So, easy to talk to - about any subject under the sun... He always, spoke so wonderfully about his dear wife Patricia. Swanny was a genius on where and how to Travel... Rest in Peace..

I knew Swanny from our time at the Globe together. He was a great friend and mentor to me there and I will greatly miss our many conversations about anything and everything. I will miss our trips scouring the city and surrounding communities for the best "fall off the bone" ribs around. Our discussions on the stock market and investing. And most of all his great sense of humor - he was such a trickster at work ! More recently, learning about his many trips since retirement. He loved to see and do so many things. His energy and inquisitiveness were relentless. He was just one of those guys who seemed to know something about everything. After his retirement from the Globe, we kept in contact mostly via email and our annual holiday dinner at Venezia's. I will miss him dearly and my heart and prayers go out his entire family who he spoke of often and loved greatly. Rest in Peace dear friend...
