Darrel and his Dad Ernie, Not sure if you'll remember me because it's been so long, but this is Jay, Darrel's childhood friend when I was around 12 years old, and Darrel was around 10. I just did a search online for Darrel, and I found this saddening obituary. Darrel's Mom was a significant person in my life, because she was cool and fun (to a 12 year old at the time). She even broke up a fight I was in on the side of the road once, when she drove by, saw that it was me, and stopped to tell everyone to leave me alone. I remember going camping with Darrel and his family; his Mom and Dad were sharing jokes with a guy from South Carolina; it was a really fun night by the campfire. Lynn was always a protective Mom to Darrel, and also to me. I've thought of her from time to time throughout my life, and also Ernie and Darrel, and wondered what they were all up to since I've lived far away in Florida for so long. Well, I was very sad when I stumbled upon this news :-( I hope Darrel and Ernie are ok now. I wish someday to be able to see them again. Take care guys. Jay McCaffrey
