Condolences to the Family of Claire Kannegieser

2021

Thinking of you, Ma, as tomorrow (July 6th) would be your 87th birthday! Hard to believe it’s been 5 years now. Wish you were here so I could celebrarte with you! Everything you predicted that would happen did but It just wasn’t worth fighting for anymore. I have no regrets though as I know I kept you safe and was able to give you the best life possible during those last 4 years! Thank you for giving me morals, empathy and the ability to know what really matters and what doesn’t! I love you!

John just wanted to say a few words about your wonderful mother. Having gone through the same loss at a younger age I understand how devastating it is. But know this much, she's in a better place now and with Frank so I'm sure she's happy. I just wanted you to know how a lot of my friends mothers stepped up as positive role models after losing my mom. Claire was one of the best. Kind, generous, forgiving, with a great sense of humor too. I think she needed that when dealing with us in our teens. She'll be missed. Love, Tim, Mary Ann, and Shannon

Wishing Claire's family peace. I am deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved Claire. Treasure the precious memories you made and the dreams you shared with Claire. Let God replace your grief with hope - your anguish with peace. The Bible refers to 'death' as our enemy. Although grief over Claire's passing is great - Joy of welcoming her back in the resurrection will be even greater, for we are promised, "Your Dead Will Live. Awake and shout joyfully, You Residents In The Dust!.." (Isaiah 26:19)

Ma/Claire, Thank you for being my mother and my best friend! You were the one person in my life who I could always count on. You always provided unconditional love to everyone even if it wasn't given in return. I consider myself lucky to have had a mother and friend like you! I'll remember all of the good times we had when you'd come to California, our trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Montreal, West Palm Beach all within the past 4 years. I'll never forget our trip to England, Sweden, Norway and Denmark as well as our trip driving to Colorado in the mid 1990's. I will always cherish the fun times you made for us over holidays and at our summer house in Brewster! What I would do just to have one more day to be with you and enjoy your company! My heart is broken but I am so fortunate to have had a mother as wonderful as you! Love Always, John xoxoxoxoxo

John and Joan, I am so very sorry to learn about Claire's passing. As you know I had the pleasure of working with Claire for many years at Mass. Bankers Association. We had many good times both in and out of work. Claire was indeed a lovely and gracious host at both her Hanover and Brewster homes and I am so glad I got to visit with her at each location. I just lost my own mother to Dementia so I know how heartbreaking it can be. May you be comforted with the many beautiful memories you have of your wonderful mother.

Joan & John: I'm sure you know how much your Mom has meant to me personally for about 78 years and to the both of us for 58 years. We have shared so many happy times that won't be forgotten. I'm glad she is at peace now.

John, we so sad to hear of your wonderful mothers passing. I remember so fondly her visits to CA and our dinners out with her. She was a wonderful and gracious lady all the way to the end of her battle with that horrible disease, that robbed her and you of so many wonderful times. Take peace in the fact that you were a wonderful son to her. You traveled back and fourth selflessly to be with her and to make she was being well cared for. We all know how much she appreciated and counted on you John. What a loving tribute to a wonderful mother. And the love of a wonderful Son.
