Condolences to the Family of Barbara J. Hanian

2014

My deepest sympathy to Ray, Bette and Sue and to all of the many people who loved and respected Aunt Barbara. She was my aunt and my Godmother which has meant a great deal to me. I am so greatful I got the chance to thank her for all the kindness she showed to both my mother Dorothea and myself when we both needed it. I will always miss her sense of humor and the delicious brownies and cookies she baked. Janet Cicchese

It's with great sadness that I write this. The last of the original "Stonely Girls" has passed. What a sad time for all of us who knew them and in particular were lucky to have known Aunt Barbara. I have many memories like, most recently, when I watched the loving exchange between Mom and Aunt Barbara at the time Mom was about to pass. They each had tears in their eyes , Barbara referring to Mom as her big sister. They held hands, consoled each other and said their good byes. It was a touching moment. Probably my fondest memories of Aunt Barbara were at the beach in Hull. She had an interesting way of laying on her beach lounger. AB would set it up and rather than sit down and lay back like most of us, She would lay down on her stomach, face where the feet would go, back legs tilted up where the back should be. She was quite a sight ! As a young boy , I got a good laugh from it. I remember once laughing and She looked at me, smiled and said "WHAT David" !!! Betty, Susan and Ray, I send my deepest sympathies. I hope at his sad time that you will recall just what a tough, funny, unique and certainly individual Mother you had. She was special ! David
