“Knowing that I’m helping people at one of the most difficult times in their lives and knowing that I’ve made a difference is what I love about being a funeral director. The most rewarding part of my job is when a family comes up to me, gives me a hug and says, ‘I don’t know how we would have been able to do this without you. You have become a member of our family in the way that you’ve cared for us.’”
Megan Dunn is kind, compassionate and truly understands the concept of service above self. Megan has a wide variety of responsibilities at Keohane and is always willing to pitch in where needed, such as answering phones or processing paper work. As funeral director, she meets with the families to discuss the best way to celebrate their loved one’s life. She enjoys learning about the lives of the deceased so that she can help create a celebration that is truly personal and meaningful.
Megan is a Quincy native and attended Quincy High School. She married her high school sweetheart, James Jr., who has been by her side since they were fifteen years old. They have two young sons, James III & Brady.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her family. She is also a volunteer for Maria Droste Services, a non-profit social service organization in Quincy run by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. Megan enjoys being a part of the Maria Droste fashion show each year, a major fundraiser for the agency.
Megan has a bachelor’s degree in Funeral Home Management from Mount Ida College. She completed her internship and apprenticeship at Keohane, and Megan is delighted to continue her career with us now that she is a fully licensed funeral director. Working at Keohane feels like being a member of the family, and Megan looks forward to growing with the company.
