Walter F. Gibson

Walter Francis Gibson, 85 (April 21, 1930) of Quincy passed away on June 30, 2015.  

Son of the late Francis and Delia (Clancy) Gibson. Beloved husband of Mary Julia Gibson (Cavanaugh) for 59 years. Loving father of Maryanne DeThomaso and her husband Dan of Braintree, Stephen Gibson and his wife Mary of Quincy, Kathleen Gilmartin of Holbrook, and Richard Gibson and his wife Katie of Milton. Proud Grandfather of Erin Girard, Danielle DeThomaso, Brigette Gibson, Mary Kate Gibson, Joey Gilmartin, Shannon Gilmartin, and Ryan Gilmartin.  He is also survived by Francis Gibson of Dennis, James Gibson of Franklin, and Ruth Maddox of Virginia, among many nieces and nephews.  

He was a retired Metropolitan Police Officer and Massachusetts State Trooper.  Walter proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army.  Walter is also known by his family and friends as Moe, Fred, Ty, and Gibby. Walter will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 1-5 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
