Victor E. Coronella

Victor E. Coronella, of Hingham, formerly of Boston and Dedham, died February 11, 2016.

Born in 1926, Victor grew up in the West End and was proud of the history, heritage and culture of his Boston upbringing. He served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII and was a member of the Linden Ponds Veterans’ Association. In his early years, Victor worked for the Hingham Shipyard. Then, after the war, he moved on to a career of more than four decades with Terminal Freight Sears. Upon retiring he spent many years volunteering at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton. Victor was a lover of music and opera and was a co-founder of the Linden Ponds opera club. When not singing, he could often be found cooking, gardening and golfing. 

Beloved husband of Gina Herron of Hingham. Devoted father of Robert Coronella and his wife Rose of Stoughton. Cherished Grandpa of Laurie Coronella. Loving brother of Bill Coronella of Somerville, Rose Moniak of CO, Mary Lattanzi of Billerica and the late Joe, (Phyllis), Sal, (Theresa) and John (Alice). Dear godfather of Roseanna Demarco and her partner Ann of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday 10am – 12pm in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12pm.

Burial in Hingham Cemetery, Hingham.
