Thomas P. Cleary of Weymouth, originally from Dorchester, died at home at the age of 78 on October 18, 2016 with his family by his side.

Tom served in the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharged, he learned the electrical trade and started his own business, Thomas P. Cleary Electric in Weymouth, which he ran for more than 45 years. He was a member of the Mass Electrical Contractors Association for 44 years and a member of the Weymouth Rotary Club for 33 years. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and loved vacationing with his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Carol A. (Harrington) Cleary. Loving father of Daniel Cleary and wife Sarah of Hanover, Kathleen Lynch and husband Robert of Norwell, Kevin Cleary and wife Jennifer of Whitman and Laurel Cleary of Weymouth. Brother of Eileen Dowd of Braintree, Kevin Cleary of Weymouth, Elaine Pearson of Georgetown, TX, Ann Mullen of Hingham and the late Pat Loring, Mary Magill, and Virginia Dexter. Cherished “GPA” of Thomas and Caroline Cleary; Joseph, Emily, and Timothy Lynch; and Mykayla, Kristina and Abigail Cleary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
