Thomas L. Powers Sr.

Powers, Thomas L., Sr, 87, of North Weymouth died peacefully on April 18th surrounded by family under the care of hospice at the Pat Roche Hospice House, Hingham.

He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Alves) Powers. Tom was survived by his 7 daughters; Marie Jacobs and her husband Larry of Abington, Pat Lennon and her husband Jack of N. Easton, Jeanne Wojner and her husband John of Rockland, Susan Duty and her husband Ken of Hanson, Gail Powers of Carver, Janet McCaslin and her husband Marc of College Park, MD, Kathy Leneweaver and her husband Peter of Bridgewater, and his son Thomas Powers Jr of Lynn. Also, survived by his loving grandchildren, Lindsey, Ben and Emily Jacobs; Danielle Lennon and Kelly Doyle; Nichole Berkery and Christine Wojner; Robert and Tyler Corrigan; Christopher, Michael and Julieann McCaslin; Zoe and Mia Leneweaver and his darling great-grandchildren, Brendon White, Colin Lennon and Sophie Grace. His is also survived by his brother John Powers and was predeceased by his siblings Mary Reeves, Richard Powers and Florence St. George.

Tom was a long-time resident of North Weymouth formerly of Dorchester. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local 7 and was employed by the MBTA for 32 years. He was an avid cribbage player, CCD teacher at St. Jerome Church and the neighborhood handyman. The family would like to thank his longtime caregivers Mary Burnett and Jimmy Wade.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
