Shirley T. (Dwyer) Dubois Richardson

Shirley T. (Dwyer) Dubois Richardson, of Hanover and formerly of Quincy, passed away with her family by her side on October 26th.

Shirley was born and raised in Quincy and was the daughter of the late Philip J. and Mary Z. (Morin) Dwyer. Shirley attended local schools and graduated from Quincy High School with the Class of 1947.

Shirley and William moved to Hanover to raise her family with her husband, William of 48 years. She enjoyed life with her husband, working right along side of him at Rich’s South Shore Express, Inc for many years and then at Bill Rich’s Place. Shirley was a devoted Catholic. In earlier years, she enjoyed singing in the choir with her mother for many years.  She loved the family parties where she and her siblings gathered around the piano joking and singing together.  Shirley enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans for her children.  She loved being around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Shirley took a huge role in helping to raise her grandchildren and attending their many school functions and sporting events.  She spent her later years helping her husband with his many charitable causes and adventures. Shirley was always sitting beside him as they drove around town. They often visited the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial at the Charlestown Navy Yard and Nantasket Beach.

Shirley was the beloved wife of the late William P. Richardson, who passed away in 2017. They married in Seabrook, NH on May 2, 1970.  Together they shared 48 loving years of marriage.  Shirley was the former wife of the late Edward G. Dubois who passed away in 1969. Devoted mother to Annette Watts and her late husband Robert, Denise Borcyckowski and her husband Robert, James Dubois and his wife Lucille, Michele Emerson and her husband Al, Sharlene Dubois and her husband Charles Whipple, Gerard Dubois, Peter Dubois and his wife Lisa, Shirley Cranton and her husband Steven, Kathleen LoPorto and her husband Nick, and the late Edward Dubois. Loving grandmother of Ellis, Matthew, Brandon, Brittany, Daniel, the late Anna, Kim, Al, Kelly, John Michael, the late James, Justin, Gerard, Melissa, Eric, Nicholas, Michael, Sean, and Derek. Loving Great Grandmother to many beloved great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings:  Philip Dwyer, Geraldine Fite, Robert Dwyer, Richard Dwyer, Paul Dwyer, Daniel Dwyer, John “Jack” Dwyer, Edward Dwyer, Roger Dwyer, James Dwyer, Patricia Decknick, George Dwyer, and Alan Dwyer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, October 29th, 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8 AM on Tuesday, October 30th prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Hanover, at 9 AM.

Services will conclude with burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull.
