Mary Theresa (Kimbar) Conway

Mary Theresa Conway (Kimbar), peacefully passed away on March 19, 2024, at the age of 90 in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was born on December 30, 1933, in Worcester, MA. Mary was a loving mother, dedicated nurse, and cherished member of her community.

Mary, known for her love of reading and passion for sports, especially the Boston Bruins, will be deeply missed by her seven children: Mary Jeanne Conway, Stephen Conway and his wife Mary, Carolyn Mellonakos, Mark Conway and his wife Jan Rousseau, Kathleen Conway, Edward Conway and his wife Mari, and Sean Conway. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Adam Conway, Evan Conway, Zachary Mellonakos, Brenna Conway, and Nicholas Conway. Mary is survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Kimbar, her brother in law Richard Looney, many nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Josephine (Sokolowski) Kimbar, her husband Edward J. Conway, and her eight brothers and five sisters.

Mary pursued her passion for nursing, graduating from Saint Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing with an Associate’s degree. She dedicated her career to caring for others, retiring from Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth.

Mary found solace and community in her places of worship at Saint Jerome’s Parish in Weymouth and St. Patrick’s Church in Pelham, NH.

In her free time, Mary enjoyed immersing herself in books and spending quality time with her family at the beach.

Visiting hours will be held at MacDonald Koehane Funeral home in Weymouth, Ma. on Tuesday, March 26th from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be  on Wednesday, March 27th at Immaculate Conception Church in Weymouth at 10:30 AM. 

Private Burial service In Bourne, Ma. On Thursday March 28th.

Mary’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
