Maria Salazar, 68, of Weymouth, MA, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving children on March 9, 2024. Born on March 6, 1955, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Maria immigrated to the United States in 1985 to provide a better life for her family. She dedicated many years to housekeeping and caregiving before finding her calling as a secretary at Harvest Ministries in 2010, where she joyfully served God and people.
Maria is survived by her beloved mother Maria Leiva, her devoted husband, Jose “Beto” Rodriguez; and her cherished children, Hayden Joshua Salazar, Isis Gabriela Salazar, and Christian Rodriguez; Her life was a testament to her faith and love for her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Harvest Ministries, located at 270 Libbey Industrial Parkway, Weymouth, MA, at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024. One of Maria’s favorite Bible verses, Philippians 1:21, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain,” beautifully encapsulates her unwavering faith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harvest Ministries in Maria’s memory. Maria’s legacy of compassion, faith, and love will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
