Lawrence Romano

Lawrence Romano of Weymouth, died peacefully at home on February 3, 2017 at the age of 83.

Larry was born and raised in Roxbury and has been a resident of Weymouth for over 50 years. During the Korean War, he proudly served in the U.S. Army. After 30 years of service as a truck driver, he was retired from the Teamsters Local #25. He then went to work for the Weymouth School Department for 20 years in maintenance. He was a a long time member of the Abington VFW and he enjoyed hunting.

Larry was the beloved husband of 62 years to Joan P. (Gallery) Romano. Loving father of Lawrence Romano, Jr. of Weymouth, William R. Romano and wife Patricia of Easton, Joseph E. Romano and wife Laura of Maine, and Noreen T. Romano of Weymouth. Brother of  Emelio Romano and his late wife Dorothy of Quincy; Roger Romano of Weymouth; Mary and her husband Jerry Loth of Pembroke; the late Daniel Romano and his late wife Stella; and the late Catherine “Kay” Atturio and her late husband Angelo. Devoted “Papa” of Sheilah Payne, Lauren Payne, Kristine Payne, Megan Romano, Jacob Romano and great granddaughter Hannah Romelus. Brother in law of the late James Gallery, his wife Carol, and his late daughter Susan, of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
