Josephine M. Ricciuti

Ricciuti, Josephine M., 83, of South Weymouth, retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, passed away surrounded by her loving family in Kaneohe, Hawaii. 

She was born in East Cambridge, MA and was a graduate of Matignon High School. She was Chairman of Drama for the Cambridge Center of Music, Drama and Art. It was here that she met the love of her life Dr. Renzo A. Ricciuti.  They were married in 1953 at St Francis of Assisi Church in her native Cambridge. Dr Ricciuti passed away in March of 1994. Josephine was also active in the St Francis of Assisi Sodality group, The Italian Women’s Catholic Club, St Albert’s Sodality and the Matignon Alumni Association. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1984 and bravely fought a battle against it ever since. She never complained, always remained positive and totally loved her Doctors and Nurses who administered treatment at Dana Farber in Weymouth. She also received excellent treatment from the Doctors and staff at Oncare Medical in Hawaii. Her strength and determination came from her family. Her life and existence was the love she had for all of them.

Beloved mother of 5 children she is survived by: Michelle Ricciuti of Greenland NH, Richard Ricciuti of Kaneohe HI, Martin Ricciuti of Kansas City, KS, Adele McMurry of Duluth GA, and Matthew Ricciuti of South Weymouth, MA. Daughters in Law, Debbie Ricciuti, Linda Ricciuti, Dava Lynch and son in law Richie McMurry. She was “ Nonna” to 8 grandchildren ; Leia Nicole Bernhard, Richard Ricciuti,Angela Ricciuti, Richard McMurry, Anthony McMurry,Rebecca McMurry,Nicolette Ricciuti and Francesca Ricciuti. 6 Great Grandsons: Jakob, Twins;  Richard and Samuel, Brently, Anthony and the newest great grandson Luke. Luke made a special trip to Hawaii to meet his Nonna for the first time bringing her great joy just days before she passed away. Josephine leaves her 2 sisters Natalie Deluca and Barbara Sterner both of Stoneham and her nieces and nephews, Maryanne Kelly, Joseph Sterner and Jacqueline McNinch.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 9 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
