John Joseph Sullivan, Jr.

John Joseph Sullivan, Jr., 70, of Wollaston, MA. passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2018.

He was the son of the late John J. Sullivan, Sr. of Ireland and Helen (Healy) Sullivan of Somerville, MA.  He was raised in the home of the late Lawrence and Bridget O’Sullivan (Mum and Dad) of West Roxbury, MA, along with their four daughters,  the late Ellen (O’Sullivan) Yienger, Anne (O’Sullivan) Giambruno, Virginia O’Sullivan and the late Mary (O’Sullivan) Ryan.

John is survived by his son, Matthew J. Sullivan of New York City and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School and Boston College, with a degree in accounting.   He was a dedicated employee, of 26 years, at Superior Packaging & Finishing in Braintree, MA.

John was known for his kindheartedness with his family and friends along with his spirit and generosity for those less fortunate. John was a proud cancer survivor.  He loved to play cards with his close friends, “The Mustache Club” and learning to cook and garden from his longtime friends Betty and Frank.  He was an avid greeting card sender and always made the time to pen a note to the people he cared for and loved.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 3-5 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by a funeral home service at 5 PM. A private burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joe Andruzzi Foundations “UpBeat Cancer” and/or The Berkshire Hills Music Academy.
