Jeremy Adam Goldberg

Jeremy Adam Goldberg, 82, of Hingham, passed away on Monday, March 18th, following a prolonged illness. Jerry is survived by his cherished wife of 62 years, Jane Goldberg (Amesbury), his devoted daughters, Kim Doran and her husband, John, of Haarlem, The Netherlands, and Christina Jernberg and her husband, Stephen, of Scituate, MA. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Brittany Eddy, Nicole Doran, Leah, and Eric Jernberg. Jerry’s expansive circle of friends was a testament to his belief that friends were truly family.

Born and raised in Braintree, MA, Jerry was the son of the late Oscar and Julie Goldberg. He graduated from Braintree High School in 1959 and, after marrying and welcoming two children, dedicated himself to providing for his family. Eventually, he established his own business, JGE Awards and Promotions, which became a cornerstone of the South Shore community for many years. Jerry’s genuine affection for his employees and customers endeared him to all who knew him.

With an ever-present smile and infectious laughter, Jerry was known as the “Mayor,” the Pied Piper, and the life of every gathering. He was a meticulous planner who adored children, often found entertaining them with an array of games at events. A sports enthusiast, Jerry relished watching his beloved Boston teams, particularly the Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox, alongside his loved ones. He was an avid runner, completing seven marathons and numerous road races and triathlons, while also enjoying volleyball, softball, flag football, tennis, and biking. He and Jane delighted in cycling adventures, exploring destinations like Vermont, Napa, and Italy, with a special fondness for Bonaire. Traveling to Europe to visit his relatives held a special place in Jerry’s heart.

Throughout his life, Jerry exemplified generosity through his volunteer work with organizations such as Cardinal Cushing School, Father Bill’s MainSpring, The Special Olympics, Friendship Home, and Serving Our Seniors.

Above all else, Jerry cherished time spent with his family and friends.
