Janet L. Dunkum

Janet L. (D’Ambrosia) Dunkum, of Weymouth, died February 5, 2016.

Born in Weymouth, Janet was raised and educated in Quincy before moving back to Weymouth where  she has lived since 1958. She was a CCD teacher for many years at both Saint John’s in Quincy and Saint Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth and was also a Girl Scout leader. Janet always enjoyed to travel with her family,  and was a lover of going to the casinos. Janet worked for many years for Walgreen’s in Weymouth as a head cashier. She will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Live, Love, and LAUGH. was a favorite saying of Janet’s.

Loving mother of Linda Raulinaitis of E. Bridgewater, Laura Dunkum of Weymouth, Loretta Dunkum and her wife Colleen of Leominster, Lisa Nocera and her husband Michael of E. Bridgewater, Woody Dunkum of Brookfield, and Lucille Bousquet and her husband Robert of E. Bridgewater and their father, Al Dunkum of W. Bridgewater. Janet is the sister of the late Richard D’Ambrosia, and Daniel D’Ambrosia. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Relatives and close friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth on Thursday, February 11, at 9:30 AM. Burial will be private, and at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, Janet’s wishes are to make a contribution to the scholarship funds at Labouré College of Nursing or Quincy College of Nursing, where two of her daughters graduated.
