James. J. Deady, Jr.

James Deady, a longtime resident of Houghs Neck, Quincy, died December 14, 2018. The beloved husband of Alice (Rouleau) Deady of Quincy for 60 years. Loving father of Karin and Fran Duggan of South Glastonbury, CT, Ellen and Michael Reardon of Georgetown and the late Linda Dracoules and her husband Chris of Holliston. Beloved brother of Barbara and the late Russ Anderson of CA, Michael Deady of Weymouth, Dennis Deady of Halifax, Paul and Pam Deady of Weymouth and the late John Deady and his wife Marie of Abington.  Cherished Grandfather of Danielle, Kerri, Kevin, Chris, Michael, Colleen, Matthew and Abby.

Jim was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and worked as a Manager for General Dynamics for more than 40 years. He loved boating and living on the ocean. He enjoyed both water and snow skiing and loved to scuba dive. Jim was a lifetime member of the Quincy Yacht Club and served as Treasurer for many years. In his earlier years, he enjoyed coaching the girls’ basketball team at The Most Blessed Sacrament Church and, as the years went on, he could always be heard coaching his children and grandchildren from the sidelines. Most of all Jim was devoted to his family, they were truly what was most important in his life. He will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday, December 19th from 4-8 PM at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday, December 20th prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy at 10 AM.

Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Holliston.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for those who are able to please consider donating blood to the Red Cross in memory of Jim.
