Frederick G. Baranow

Frederick G. Baranow, of Weymouth, formerly of North Quincy and Boston, died February 18, 2017 at the age of 93.

Fred proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a telephone engineer for the phone company for many years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. An adventurer, Fred enjoyed traveling. Among his adventures were trips to California and Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as many cruises. He even flew in a hot air balloon while in his 80’s. Fred also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

He was the husband of the late Ann M. (Fanning) Baranow. Loving father of Joan Klapper and husband Lew of Chicago, IL; Carol Dunphy and her late husband George of Abington; Gayle Bielech and husband Andrew of Broomall, PA; Denise N. Little and husband Bill of Braintree; and the late Lynne Leone and her husband David. Cherished grandfather of Robert Kenney, J. Scott Kenney, James Dunphy, Carolyn Tobin, Danielle Higgins, Nicole Raleigh, Anne Stefanik, Billy Little, and 15 great grandchildren. Brother of Ruth Hatch of Kingston and the late Edward Baranow, William Baranow, Constance Baranow, Bertha Mooney, and Lillian Scott. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Clare’s Church, Braintree at 10 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
