Frances Ann Noble Desaulniers, (OFD) formerly of Quincy, Hingham and Marshfield, passed away peacefully March 13, 2024 leaving her family with heavy hearts, love and comforting memories. Proudly born and raised in Dorchester (St. Margaret’s Parish), she was the daughter of the late Frances (Noonan) Noble Flaherty, Henry Noble and Martin Flaherty, and the beloved wife of the late Albert E. Desaulniers (BFD).  Frances graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School in 1947 and married Albert in 1950. Frances and Albert were loving and devoted parents to five daughters. She is survived by Diane O’Connor, Jean Alley, Maureen Meehan, Michelle Desaulniers and Jacquelyn Thompson, as well as her sons-in-law Richard O’Connor, Robert Meehan and Paul Thompson.

A devoted grandmother, “Mutti” is also survived by her grandchildren: Caroline, Brendan, Samuel, Brian, Jonathan, Benjamin, Julia and Clare.

Sister of the late Henry J. Noble Jr. and Clare Lawless, she is survived by Elaine Staunton and many nieces and nephews.

Frances was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, sister, and friend. She was thrilled to have had so many years with the family and friends who meant the world to her. She was a woman of great faith and resilience.  Frances was also very proud of her Irish heritage.

After raising her daughters, Frances was a valued volunteer at Quincy City Hospital and later South Shore Hospital, earning many hour pins and spending rewarding time with newborns and families. She knitted beautiful afghans and baby blankets that were always in demand.

Frances was a voracious reader, a member of the K Club in Dorchester, an eager participant in many trips to the Irish Village, a faithful Boston Globe subscriber, a crossword and jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, a nightly viewer of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and a dedicated fan of the Red Sox, especially her favorites Pedro Martinez and David Ortiz.

The family thanks the caring professionals of Wingate at Silver Lake and West River Hospice for their love and compassion for our mother in her final years.

There is a saying that we should strive to live an ordinary life in an extraordinary way. Frances certainly lived a long, happy and extraordinary life.
