Eleanor M. Archer

Eleanor, known by many loved ones as “Enie” or “Ellie,” passed away peacefully at the age of 95.

She was an employee of Commercial Union Insurance Company of America for 43 years before retiring in 1989.  She enjoyed traveling the world, rooting for the Boston Red Sox, and dining out with friends and family.  She was also a member of two bowling leagues until the age of 93 and loved making trips to the Twin River and Encore casinos where she tried her best to beat the slot machines.

Eleanor was a devout Catholic and until recently attended daily Mass at Sacred Heart Church, followed by breakfast at OB’s with the girls.

Eleanor was predeceased by her siblings Francis X. Archer and Marie A. Blaser.  She is survived by 8 nieces and nephews, 18 grandnieces and grandnephews, and 18 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.  She adored her family and loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own children.  She kept up with the news on everyone and had each and every birthday committed to memory.  She is also survived by many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Thursday 4 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM.  Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
