Lawrence, Edward J. “Eddie” of East Bridgewater, died May 15, 2017. 

Eddie adored his family, especially being “Papa” to his grandchildren. He enjoyed babysitting and driving them to and from after school events, as well as attending their performances. Eddie was an avid Boston sports fan (particularly the Red Sox), an ace bowler, and a devoted roadie for Ed’s bands Itchy Bean, Third Knuckle, and SixteenX20. Eddie was a simple, old fashioned man who was set in his ways. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

He was a beloved husband of 44 years to the late Catherine E. Lawrence and a devoted father to Edward M. Lawrence and his wife, Stacia Kinnear-Vandehey, of East Bridgewater; Cynthia M. Fowler and her husband, Kevin, of Chester, Georgia; and George M. Lawrence and his wife, Kathleen Dowling, of Boston. Eddie was a loving brother of Barbara, Betty, Billy, Joey, Kathy, Peggy, Polly, Tommy, and the late Mary. He was the cherished “Papa” of Jerry, Brad, Ameliah, Savannah, Charlie, and Julianne. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mark’s Church, Dorchester, at 10 AM. Burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
