Scales, Doris “Elaine” of Braintree, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, November 27, 2017.

Daughter of the late Robert and Doris Hayes. Beloved wife of 57 years to Robert C. Scales of Braintree.  Loving mother of Jeanne Gilbert and her husband Michael of Maine, Robert F. Scales of Quincy and Kevin Scales of Weymouth.  Devoted Nana of Cameron Gilbert and Grace Stamatakis.  Also survived by many dear friends and extended family.

Elaine worked as a Real Estate Agent for over 40 years, working at Charter Realty in Braintree and Coughlin and Company Real Estate in Weymouth.  She was awarded The Real Estate Emeritus award in recognition of 40 consecutive years in valuable and lasting contribution of the real estate profession in the community from the National Association of Real Estate.  Elaine was an active member of the Braintree Woman’s Club for many years.  She enjoyed flower gardening, vacationing with family and friends to York, ME, reading, knitting and hot fudge sundaes. Her main passion in life was spending time with her family and friends.  Elaine will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. QUINCY.  A Celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 AM prior to the Funeral service at 10 AM in Union Congregational Church, 74 Commercial St. Braintree. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
