David L. McElroy

David L. McElroy, a long term resident of the Linden Ponds community in Hingham, passed away September 28, 2017.  A native of Brookline, Dave and his wife Fran previously resided in Newton and Pocasset. During WWII he served as a Yeoman 3rd Class in the U.S. Coast Guard. In his career as a Master Grocer and Food Product Broker he introduced many new food products to the New England region. But his lifelong passion was charity fund raising and volunteering.  He offered a hand over the years to numerous organizations, including Shriners Hospital, the Old North Church, and the Franconia New Hampshire Fire Department.

Son of the late Joseph and Eileen (Frazier) McElroy. Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Frances M. (Zelent) McElroy. Predeceased by 7 siblings.  Survived by sister Helen McIntosh of Nokomis, FL., and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to be held in the Rose Court Building at Linden Ponds on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 12 PM.
