Claire J. Gould

Claire J. Gould, age 70, of Worcester MA, died June 16th at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Born December 9, 1947 in Quincy, MA, she was the proud daughter of the late Francis and Carolyn (Davey) Gould, sister of Marie (Gould) Butler of Tewksbury, and cousin of Patricia (Davey) Prince of Newport News, VA.

Following graduation from North Quincy High School, Claire pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. That dream was fulfilled when she graduated from Quincy Junior College with an LPN degree. She then began a journey that brought her tremendous joy, by advocating for her patients and helping them navigate the system to secure much needed medical care. She continued along the path of life as a dedicated nurse and advocate in both the private and commercial sectors, eventually retiring from New England Sinai Hospital due to her own health issue.

Claire enjoyed life, specifically the time spent with her family. She especially enjoyed cutting down Christmas trees with them, viewing the Christmas lights together, vacationing at Newfound Lake, and going on cruises with her cousin.

Claire will be sadly missed by her sister, Marie, cousin Pat, her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews – her “virtual children”, as well as by her loving friends Judy, Judy, Linda, and Ann. We extend a special thank you to the staff at Notre Dame for the loving and supportive care provided to Claire and her family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Thursday morning from 9-10:30 am in the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock Street, Quincy followed by a Celebration of Life Service Thursday at 10:30. Burial In Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Claire may be made to Notre Dame Long Care Services, 965  Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01606.
