Dunphy, Carol A. (Baranow), 79, of Abington, passed away on December 21, 2022. Beloved wife of 47 years to the late George E. Dunphy. She was born in Boston and grew up in South Boston and Quincy, daughter of Frederick and Ann (Fanning) Baranow. Carol was a graduate of North Quincy High School where she met her late husband.

She worked for New England Telephone, Blue Cross Blue Shield and EDS, but her greatest joy, by far, was giving her love to her husband, children, grandchildren and family. Carol was a woman of great faith and charity, who after retirement, donated her time and treasure to her church.  It’s impossible to count the selfless acts Carol made for others, while asking for nothing in return.  Carol enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, family, bowling, card games, working in her yard, and spending time with her many friends.

Carol is survived by her children; James Dunphy and his wife Robyn of Quincy, Carolyn Tobin and her husband Thomas of Lunenburg, her sisters: Joan Klapper, her husband Lew, the late Lynn Leone, Gayle Bielech, her husband Andrew, Denise Little, her husband Bill, her grandchildren: Patrick, Shawn, Brendan, Christopher and Drew. Also survived many loving nieces and nephews, and loved fur babies Molly and Dolly.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass in St. Bridget’s Church, Abington at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made in Carol’s name to Pat Roche Hospice Home, 86 Turkey Hill Road, Hingham, MA 02043.
