Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A dear friend to the Caffrey, Curry, and Mertz families.

Born in Pittsfield, MA, Pat considered Portland, Maine her hometown. She spent happy summers and made lifelong friendships at camp Hitinowa in Litchfield, Maine.
Moving from Hartford, CT, she raised her family in Millis, working at Medfield State Hospital. Pat was a founding member of the Pine Tree League, an award winning community organization. She retired to Eastham, later relocating to Hingham.

Pat loved to read, receiving multiple daily newspapers. She was especially interested in World War II, and her library contains no less than 12 books about Winston Churchill. Pat crossed the US during school breaks, managing the household in a trailer and a VW camper. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her sister Mary Lou to Europe and the Canadian Rockies. She was a lifelong volunteer whose efforts ranged from knitting baby caps to literacy tutoring.

A natural mother with a wonderful sense of humor and a positive outlook, Pat had 8 children, all born within ten years. She was president of the “clutie” pie dance club which met nightly in the kitchen. She encouraged and supported her children in every way, spending many hours at school and sport activities and emergency rooms, generally well prepared with reading material and a mug of coffee.

Her children and grandchildren have wonderful memories of playing games of gin rummy and enjoying happy hours. She will be deeply missed.

Pat was a proud Democrat who cared about social justice and helping those in need.
