Alice C. Klumpp

Klumpp, Alice C. (Joyce) of Quincy, passed away September 17, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. 

Alice graduated from Arch Bishop Cushing High School in 1953.  She worked for The New England Telephone Company and later worked for the MDC Parks and Recreation Department and became Manager of the Thompson Center in Hyde Park, where she cared for and worked with the elderly and those with special needs.  During the winters, Alice managed the Bajko skating Rink in Hyde Park where she was the first woman to operate the Zamboni. She was a member of the Castle Island Association and also a member of the Kennedy Senior Center, where she spent much of her time joining in yoga classes and sing-a-longs.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, boating, trips to the beach and traveling, especially to Ireland and Florida.  Alice was a genuine people person and was loved and admired by all who knew her.  She will be sadly missed but never forgotten. 

Beloved wife of 58 years to Carl A. Klumpp of Marina Bay, Quincy.  Loving mother of Barbara Klumpp of Worcester, Laura Klumpp of Quincy, Christina Pereira and her husband Jose of Framingham, Paula Crowley and her husband Gene of Middleboro and Carolyn Oosting and her husband Jan of Amsterdam.  Devoted grandmother of Sarah and Jonathan Butler, Amy Coy, Sean, Matthew, Samantha, Timothy and Allison Crowley and Oscar and Orson Oosting.  Caring sister of M.Patricia Costello of Duxbury and the late Patrick F. “Frank” Joyce.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Agatha’s Church, Milton at 10:30 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
