Alexander K. Lam

Alexander K. Lam, a longtime of Quincy resident and formerly of Hong Kong, China, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.  He was 75.

Born in Hong Kong, China, he was the son of the late Thomas and Theresa (Tang) Lam and attended local schools.

Alexander moved to the United States in 1976 and later moved to Quincy in 1982. He and his wife raised their family with love and devotion.

A banker, Alexander worked for Santander Bank in Boston’s China Town. He started working there in 1976 and retired in 2009 after 33 years of service.

In his spare time, Alexander enjoyed being with his family and spending quality time with his grandchildren. A church elder, he regularly conducted bible studies and participated in many groups related to the church. Alexander enjoyed leading people to Christ. He was most proud of his family and church.

Alexander was the beloved husband of Mina (Law) Lam, together the two shared 52 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Moses Lam and his wife Karen of Quincy and Yvonne Shiau and her husband Harlan of Baltimore, Maryland. Alexander was the loving grandfather of Isaiah Shiau of Baltimore, Maryland, Michaela Lam of Quincy, Hannah Shiau of Baltimore, Maryland and Jacob Lam of Quincy. He was also the dear brother of David Lam and his wife Maureen of Quincy, Lilly Lam of San Francisco, Cecilia Jae and husband Peter of Quincy and Mary Young and her husband Lai of Newton.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, February 17th from 5 through 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. His funeral service will be held on Monday, February 18th at 10 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Services will conclude with interment in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Boston.
