Paul K. McLaughlin

McLaughlin, Paul K. of Hull, died January 17, 2018.

Originally from Mission Hill, Paul lived in Hull for much of his life, beginning as a summer resident, moving there year-round as teenager, and settling on Sunset Point to raise his family. He worked for many years as a linesman for New England Telephone Company.

He loved to tell jokes and sing, and was a part of the Whippoorwills Choral Group in Weymouth. Paul had a deep love for his family, friends and animals. In his spare time he enjoyed being out on his back deck with friends, reading and enjoying the view of the water. He will be remembered for his larger than life personality and sense of humor.

Paul was the youngest child of the late John and Mary (O’Connell) McLaughlin. When his mother died shortly after his birth, Paul’s beloved Aunt Mae assisted in caring for him and his brothers and sisters.

He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (Curran) McLaughlin, cherished father of Michael McLaughlin of Hull, Marty McLaughlin and his wife Kathleen of Weymouth, Marilyn Haraden and her husband Christopher of Hanover, and the late Mary McLaughlin. Caring “Grampa” to Matthew Haraden, Adam Haraden, Sean McLaughlin and Kathryn McLaughlin.

Paul was the brother of the late John McLaughlin, Lt. Joseph McLaughlin, Irene O’Rourke, and Marie O’Brien, and the dear friend of Joan Tilden of Weymouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
