Michael P. Veneto

Michael P. Veneto, 43, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2017 of natural causes.

He was born February 21, 1973, in Boston. He grew up in Hingham and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1999. He was a 1991 graduate of Hingham High School and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1995. A lifelong legacy of outstanding athletic achievements began very early for Mike. His standout performance on Hingham baseball, hockey, and particularly soccer teams, culminated in Mike twice being selected as a Division 1 College Soccer All-American. After college, Mike continued playing soccer in the National Professional Soccer League for the Cleveland Crunch and later for the Philadelphia Kixx. Mike was an avid golfer and was most recently employed as the Director of Sales for Windsor Parke Golf Club. Mike was a die-hard Boston sports fan who relished every team’s victory. His love of Boston was surpassed only by his love of life and the people he surrounded himself with. The minute you met Mike, you were instantly his friend. Above all else, family was everything to him and not a day went by without him touching base with family members.

He leaves behind his beautiful daughter Riley of Ocala, Florida. Loving son of Peter Veneto and his wife Marti of Quincy, MA and Elaine Veneto and her husband Marvin Madden of Rockland, MA. He is survived by two sisters and their families: Angela (Veneto) Hopfe and her children, Ryan, Brooke, and Jordan of Jacksonville, Florida, and Michele (Veneto) Messina, her husband Frank and their daughter Casey of Norwell, MA. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Lena Veneto, of Quincy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 3-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
