Condolences to the Family of James “Jim” Dillon Fitzgerald

2024

Lorrie & Family - We were deeply saddened to learn of Jim's passing. He played a key role in my career and the growth of numerous other consultants at ERM. He exemplified the qualities of hard work, building trust and delivering quality - all while having fun doing it. He always had time for others and was committed to our collective success. His legacy lives on. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. - Gregg & Cathleen

I am a former colleague of Jim's from our days together at ERM in the late 1980s, and though I haven't seen or contacted with him since the early 1990s, I always liked Jim and had a great time with him in our younger days when we would go out for a beer after work at the Ground Round. Very sorry to hear of his passing, my condolences to his family and friends. He was a great guy.

Jim was a quiet and reserved gentleman that adored his kids. He was a man of great intelligence that had a rigorous interest in many things. While I haven't see Jim in some time given his illness the world is nonetheless poorer for his loss. His memory will be a blessing to those that knew him.

Dear Lorrie, Doug, Christie and the Fitzgerald family, We are so sorry for your immense loss. We echo Jeff Stone’s sentiments but with the added experience of working with Jim in person for many hours on our dairy farm. Jim patiently taught me details of modeling and engineering the renewable natural gas on a dairy farm with features not yet done in the US. Jim, Bob Foxen Jeff Stone and the UGIES team brought it to a reality at Spruce Haven Farm and other dairy farms. Because of my complete trust and respect for Jim, I could share our farm’s concerns in search of solutions. He was so patient and engaged in the farm’s best future. Jim and I also loved talking about our faith in the Lord who he now sees face to face. Jim certainly is completely healed and sharing his delightful sense of humor in Glory. Please visit the farm so you can see his fine work and share stories of his passionate and diligent service. Blessings to you all, Doug, Janet, Dustin, Brandi, Luke, Kate Young and Jason and Alisha Koch

I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Although I never had the chance to meet Jim in person, we spent many hours on the phone, collaborating on the renewable energy projects we were working through. Jim set the bar for dedication and strength, attending meetings while sitting in the hospital for his treatments. Jim had a great sense of humor; I heard him say more than once "it may be just cow manure to you, but it's our bread and butter!" Jim was always sure to ask if I had won any BBQ competitions lately and we would chat about how good it sounded! We had always planned to meet when he made a trip to NY to see the work we have done on the projects. I am better for knowing Jim the short time I did.
