Billy and family, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy on the passing of your wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. I was fortunate to meet Laurie when I was president of the PTO at Sacred Heart School. In the midst of Laurie's busy schedule of raising a family and working as a nurse, she always found time to volunteer at the school events. I was grateful when she kindly stepped up to the plate when it was time to elect new PTO officers. I will never forget her kindness, and welcoming personality. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May the love and support of family and friends comfort you in the days ahead. Peace and blessings.

I had the privilege of working with Laura throughout my career at The Floating. She was so kind and compassionate and everyone she met loved her. She was the greatest advocate for her patients and their families and the greatest teacher to her colleagues. Laura will be missed by many. My deepest sympathies to your family.

Your friends at Cape Cod Healthcare are saddened by the loss of your wife, mother, and sister. It is clear that she was an extraordinary women to her family first and to those she cared for in her profession - her life embodied the example of the giving tree. May you all find solace in the coming days and remember her legacy in the grandchildren she so loved.

My condolences to Laura’s family. Laura’s compassion and strength of character as a pediatric heme-onc nurse helped me grow as a person and pediatrician during my first years as a Tufts Pediatric resident. Her patients adored her, as did I. When I walked onto the floor, I would wash my hands and head towards Laura as she would always know the most pressing issues and she would help prepare me for the day. She knew the ins and outs of every patient and protocol. She was also there for the hard times which I had to learn to process and move through; she had done this too many times to count and reminded me that it does not get easier each time. My prayers for Laura & her family; she has touched so many children, nurses, and physicians in her years at Tufts - thank you for sharing her with us.

I worked with Laura while I did my residency at Tufts. She was a special woman- though I’m sure if you are reading this you already know this. She was ever-caring (and stern when needing to be to protect her patients). I was pregnant while working with her and I am lucky to say she bestowed her motherly attitude to me as well, always checking in on how I was doing. You taught me so much about what it means to go the extra mile for a patient and person. She will be forever missed. The world was a better place because of her.

I am so very sorry to hear about Laura’s passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her starting with her beginning at the Floating hospital to getting our kids together with the other nurses children. Always smiling and ready with a hug or advice, she will be sorely missed.

Billy I’m so so sorry for your and your children’s and grandchildren’s loss. There’s nothing I can say that will make you feel better. Just know she was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed by any one who’s lives she touched.
