Condolences to the Family of Lois Irene Oxenford Brandes

2021

Mr. Brandes, my sincere sympathies go out to you and your family. I just learned of the passing of your beloved Lois. I receive the Quincy Sun newspaper and just got to reading it when I saw the obituary. Lois was a beautiful person inside and out. We will miss her at Burtons Grill. Sending you love and light through this difficult time. Maria Zografos Burtons Grill, Hingham

My girls had Lois Brandes as a teacher at Squantum School. She was wonderful teacher and one of those special people you don’t forget. We were saddened to hear of her passing but comforted to know she was a deeply religious person. God bless you Lois.

Mrs Brandes was a wonderful soul and teacher. I enjoyed school very much because of her. She was a true meaning of being a teacher. She gave the best hugs, believed in us and was like our second mom. Paula McDonough Glynn

Lois has been in my heart since 1974. I had Mrs. Brandes for 3rd grade. My first few years of school were filled with anxiety, but that all disappeared in the presence of Lois. She was kind, calm, loving, enthusiastic and beautiful inside and out. Years later I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Lois as my daughter's math tutor. I send my condolences to Lambert and the rest of her family and friends.

Words cannot express the compassion, intelligence, grace and love that Lois showed to all her students as a fantastic teacher, mentor and friend. As a sister, Lois was the ideal example of kindness, strength and great intelligence Her talents were many, her accomplishments huge and one of her proudest days of her life was accepting her diploma at Eastern Nazarene College for her Master's Degree! Lois was an example not only to her three youngers sisters, but to those in churches, at school, college and wherever she went. Her smile was not overwhelming, but Lois had a magnificent elegance of charm and warmth. There is no one to compare to Lois. Always in our hearts, minds and spirits, Lois will live on, sing on, cheer us on and walk with us through the dark times, as always. May God give us the courage to withstand this loss, guide us and lead us in the paths we should take. There is no way to fill the loss of Lois, nor would we try. Thank you God for giving Lois to us, sharing one of your angels; and now she is home with you in heaven. Her songs will be mighty and graceful; just as Lois always will be in our hearts. Our memories will sustain us, God be with the others she leaves behind and her loving husband Lambert shall be strengthened by her love which encompasses this earth and beyond. Love you dear sister, friend and confidant, Susie and Mike

Dear Professor Brandes, Our hearts are with you at this devastating time. We know your love for Mrs. Brandes reached beyond the stars. Your devotion to her in sickness and in health was demonstrated daily. Lois knew every day you loved her more than anything on this earth. Although this is an extremely difficult time we rest in the love of the Lord and remember that separation from the ones we love is temporary but the Lord’s gift of eternity is forever. We morn - but not without hope. Please know that you are uplifted in prayer that the Lord will sustain you through your unmeasurable grief. We share your heartbreak. The care, joy and love of the Lord Mrs. Brandes brought into our lives will be dearly missed. The Blanchette Family (Elizabeth ENC 15’)
