Hans, Carmen, Kenneth, Scarlett, I'm sorry to be now learning of Hans' passing. I realize at times like these there are no adequate words to bring comfort, but I wanted to let you know that I am very sorry for your loss, for your pain, for your grief, for your sadness. I was happy to see that Hans grew up to be a handsome, extremely well liked, and extremely loved young man, who was taken away, way too soon. Please accept my deepest condolences. I grieve with you.

My Dearest Family, I am at a loss for words and In a state of utter disbelief. Although there is nothing I can say that will ease the sadness in your hearts, I can describe how Hans made a difference in my life. Hans treated myself as well as my family as a part of his own. His welcoming spirit had the ability to make anyone smile and laugh. Hans was a gentlemen, a direct reflection of his fathers generosity and kindness. It is not often that you meet someone as altruistic as Hans. The dictionary defines altruistic as “showing a disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others”, in my opinion this one word describes my friend in totality. Every conversation, every interaction with another, Hans made sure that whatever you needed was taken care of. Myself and Hans could not be more different, we come from different backgrounds, communities, and social settings. However, it was Hans who taught me just how alike we truly are. Hans loved his family especially his mother, brother, and sister. It is no coincidence that his name resembles such love. Familia, “a household or religious community.. a family”, as his last name describes him Hans was family to everyone he interacted with. As time moves forward I will always remember my friend, your son, your brother, as one of the greatest men I have ever met. It seems like yesterday we were speaking about going through life together as a team, finding the next big move, the next party, or just having fun. My dearest family, my heart hurts with you and I pray with you during this tragic time. Through God there is peace and through God there is light and with light happiness. Sincerely, - Dylan C. My deepest condolences to the Familia family. Hans and my son Curtis have been best friends since they were in the first grade I have watched them grow together Hans was the sweetest most genuine young men and would light up any room he walked in with his energy

Hans was one of a kind, no one could match his positive energy. He could easily light up any room and always knew the right things to say to make you smile. He was a great friend and no matter how far we drifted we could always pick up right where we started. He is irreplaceable, had so much potential and is so loved. He will never be forgotten and his spirit will always be here to comfort your family and his friends.

Hans was one of my best friends growing up. He always had a great energy about him that made him so fun to be around and was just the kindest person you could ever meet. He's someone I don't think I'm ever going to forget, I'll hold on to all the happy memories I have of him forever. I miss him so much already, and I am so sorry to his family for their loss. He truly was a wonderful person.

Hans was an amazing guy. He was gentle, caring, kind and funny. I am heartbroken 💔 I wish I had words to ease your pain but I know there are none. I pray God gently carries you through this and gives you strength. Sending love and prayers! Rest in the sweetest peace dear boy.

Such a tragic loss at such a very young age can only stir rage and revolt in us. Why him? Why Hans? No matter how strong our Faith or how deep our hope for a better life up there, we can't help questioning ourselves about the real purpose of our life on Earth. I was saddened to hear of Hans’ passing. When in school, Hans brought a smile to everyone in his presence; he was always respectful, and always respected both by staff and students. To Hans’ family and friends, I offer this scripture that I turn to often: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

I was Hans advisor at Boston Day and Evening in 2017. He was always so positive and lively and brought great energy to our advisory. The last time I saw Hans I was visiting the school and he gave me a warm hug. He was good to see he was doing well and keeping up with the school. I am deeply saddened by his lost and I wish his family peace through this hard time. Hans will be deeply missed!
