Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your dear father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as your mother. Mr. Mahoney was my History teacher at Scituate High. I had the great pleasure to be welcomed to his home to meet Mrs. Mahoney and his children, and even as teen I recognized that his family was his greatest pride and joy. He shaped my life forever, just as he did all of his students and players, with his humor and affection and pure desire to see us succeed. His own life was the best kind of successful; he lived for his family, his friends and those who needed him.

Butch Mahoney ….admired and loved by so many has now "gone Home" to a huge welcoming by the hundreds/ thousands of friends and family who will overwhelmingly surround Butch with Love. My deceased brother, Richard Glogowski and I both attended AIC and, of course, knew Butch and are ALL BETTER PEOPLE FOR KNOWING HIM!

Dear Mahoney Family: I was so sorry to hear of Butch's passing, and I offer you my condolences. Here's a guy who could make your whole day just by bumping into him. Butch had the map of Ireland on his face and the soul of Ireland all over. He's earned his rest. May God Bless you all at this time.

Sue and Dan so sorry for the loss of your dad but as I have said Ruth is waiting for him. He accomplished so many great things in his life and your tribute to him was so touching. May these next days be filled with comfort and love when remembering your dad.

We were very sorry to hear of Butch's passing. We had the privilege of meeting him when he was in Ireland many years ago. When Michael was in Boston he ensured it was a memorable visit for him. Condolences to all his family, may he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear the passing of Butch. He was a local sports hero when I was growing up in Quincy. I had the pleasure of playing softball at Rotary Field with Brian and Butch. I have a lot of good memories of those days. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

My late husband Dan Jenkins was the N.E. wrestling champion, 147 lbs from Situate High school,. Class of 1963 and "Butch" Mahoney was his coach.
