Condolences to the Family of Josephine D. Polito

2020

Such warm and fond memories of Auntie Jo in the Farrell family: a dear and long-time friend to my mother, Ann, and godmother to my oldest brother Terence. We are all so saddened to hear of this great loss. I am flooded with images of both Jo and Uncle John -- so many laughs and much love. The world is surely diminished by this loss. Sending our sincere condolences.

Jo Polito came into our lives fifty-eight years ago. She was vivacious and funny and ever so interested in the crazy family that filled the house next door! We girls thought she was so cool -she wore mascara and worked downtown! Despite our warnings, she was ecstatic when her own children were born! As the years passed, she always remained our caring and concerned next door neighbor, staying in touch with phone calls, always positive, always interested. I see Jo now enjoying a cuppa with dear Mrs Maggio, Ma and Dad and Edi and all her many friends!

Love and prayers to all of you, Jay, Jeanmarie and James. Your Mom was one of a kind. It was a pleasure to know her, not only as the beloved secretary at St Ann, but as a friend. You were blest to call her Mom and your children had the very best Nana in the word. ❤

Jay, James, Jeanmarie and your families, our sincere sympathy on the loss of your mom. She was a wonderful neighbor to us on Clay St. and a comfort to have at St. Ann's School when our children were there. Her warmth and kindness will always be remembered!

Mrs. Polito was a mother figure to so many of us "St. Ann's" students. She laughed at all of our antics, was there with open arms when we needed a hug, and tolerate us with compassion when we were up to our shenanigans. Outside of school, I remember her house as filled with the most amazing aromas of her Italian cooking. I loved our phone conversations as I got older, and marveled at how "young and with it" she sounded when we spoke late last year. She always had an incredibly contagious laugh and a great outlook on life. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. God Bless Mrs. Polito. And God bless the whole Polito family ~ especially Jay, James and Jeanmarie.

Jean-Marie, Jay, and families- Sending my deepest condolences to you all during this difficult time. It was a privilege to have spent so much time with your beautiful mother over the past few years. She had the most wonderfully contagious smile and laugh, always making therapy more fun than "work". She is so greatly missed already. Praying for your comfort and peace.

We thoroughly enjoyed and loved Jo. She was always there if anyone needed advice. Many times on a Friday night her "golden girls" would visit and have a "click glasses" night. She was very generous with invitations. Jo, we will miss you. As R.L. would say "We'll see you when we see you". Love, Dave and Linda McGillicuddy

So sorry to hear of your moms passing Jay and family. Your mom was one of the nicest people. Going to the Principal's office was never fun but seeing your mom out front you new would come out alive. Your family will be in my prayers. Drew
