Condolences to the Family of John T. Crosslin, Jr.

2021

I was John's former insurance agent up until a few years ago, and I always enjoyed our conversations every time we spoke. He truly was a courageous man and loved his family. I would try and contact him as his birthday is the day before mine; however I was saddened today to see that he passed. My heartfelt sympathies to his family; as I am sure he's being remembered today. I hope you are having a heavenly birthday John!

Good afternoon. I hope you and your family are safe and comfortable in these challenging times. My name is Dave Ryan, and I went to school with John at Cambridge Latin. John was a great guy and had a fine sense of humor. John and I spent some scary Freshman year moments together at CHLS, being the underclassmen. I've thought of John a lot over the years, and I am sad to hear of his passing. I wish John to rest in peace, and for you, his loving family, the joy of always having him in your hearts. A very sweet guy. Warmest regards, Dave Ryan CHLS Class of 1973 dryan9@comcast.net

Carol and family, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. John was a person I always looked up to and wanted to be like. I remember many laughs when you lived next to us on Reservoir. I loved going over to your deck and having a few beers. Many laughs and great stories from John. My Dad Ed loved seeing your family and John would always spend more time talking to my Dad and hearing his stories. We really missed you after you moved up the hill but we’re glad we could see you and say hello often. Please know that John made an impact on me, our neighborhood, his community, and was a role model for everyone to want to strive to be. The Teahan family extends its heartfelt condolences to you and your sons. God bless you and your family.

I am a secret admirer of Cousin John C. His kindness to me when I was a young boy is something I will always remember. When I was in High School, in John's neighborhood, grabbing a sandwich over at Pete's, I would run into John and was always amazed by his warmth and positive attitude. He always had my back. Although I have many memories of my Uncle John over the past two decades, there is one memory that stands out. I was lucky enough to join the Crosslin and Schuler families, along with my grandparents to Cape Cod one Summer. This was over 20 years ago. We spent our days on the beach, playing with my cousins. One night, we all went out to dinner at a place called the "Wooden Shoe", I believe it was called. Us kids were happy to be included in this adult night out and we had a wonderful lobster dinner, listening to the adults tell stories and jokes. I will never forget sitting there, listening to my aunt Carol and uncle John telling us a funny story. Both of them tan, dark haired and smiling - telling us a story that they could barely get out without laughing. My Aunt Carol had on bright pink lipstick (as usual) and they both just looked so happy, so relaxed and so proud of their two sons (no doubt the subject of the funny story). It is such a simple memory, but one that always comes to mind. When I think of my Uncle John, I picture him there, in that restaurant. I remember hoping that one day, I too would have a lovely family like Crosslins. Twenty years later, I can picture his face from this night like it was yesterday and I love that I have this special memory of such a special man. I love you all, and look forward to the time when we can all be together.

To Carol, Brendan, Ryan and John's family - It was such a pleasure and honor to know John over the past twenty years. Wonderful husband, father, son, brother, friend, colleague and neighbor - John always had a twinkle in his eye and a fun story to share, whether it be about Boston history, politics, or fun facts about life! He was an inspiration to so many as he courageously battled cancer and other medical issues. He was a true hero! May he rest in peace. Until we meet again! With Deepest Sympathy Nancy Fallon

Carol, Brendan, & Ryan, You all have my deepest sympathy at this difficult time. John was the nicest and kindest guy I ever had the pleasure of knowing.....I will always cherish the memories of all of us hanging out in the driveway. John and I referred to that time as the good ol’ days when we were chatting. He will be missed but I believe he is in a wonderful place now free from all that plagued his health. Rest in God’s hands John💕🙏🏼

Carol, Brendan & Ryan, As you already know John was a very special person. He was a good friend and neighbor. I loved coming home from work and seeing John and his chair set up on the front lawn. He loved listening to his music “Tower of Power” being a favorite. John will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known him. Love,

Paul & Celeste Coletti
