On behalf of all of us in the Boston Office of The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, please accept our deepest sympathies. Our retired colleague was a skilled mediator who used his lifetime of experience and knowledge to assist those in conflict find their way to agreement. Prior to joining FMCS, I often worked with Jim when I was a Union advocate in the newspaper industry. He was the calming voice in an atmosphere of stress and anxiety. I especially remember his use of storytelling and corny jokes to break the tension. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
