LT Walsh was one of the brightest minds I have met. As we discussed religion, morality and the human condition, I've grown as a Chaplain. He made a lasting impact on my career and my life. May God be with the Walsh family during this difficult time. May God provide you all with the comfort that you need. May Michael's soul, and the souls of all the departed, rest in peace.

My Condolences to Mike’s family. He is the smartest commissioned officer that I have ever worked with. We have had a lot of deep philosophical conversations and he really opened my mind on different aspects of life. He truly cared about those around him. I’ve learned a lot from him. Rest peacefully.

To Delia and her family... My heartfelt condolences. Delia, the other day before we "pinged to prayer," your classmates offered up your name. God love you, gal! Hang in there.

My condolences to the entire Walsh family. My heart breaks for all of you as you face this difficult time. I first met Mike in the first grade, he always made me laugh with his silly little antics. One of my favorite memories was him roller blading down Watson Park with his pet iguana. He will truly be missed by everyone, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My condolences to the entire Walsh family. I have many fond memories of Mike as a classmate and a teammate. Such boundless energy and enthusiasm. Skateboards, kayaks, light sabers and never a dull moment in between - reunions will never be the same. He will be missed.

As an American Soldier you were a true Leader. You were one of the first Officers to ever reach out to me when I joined the 1058. As a soldier who could understand your serious/funny side, I promise to fulfill my duty. As a human being, I promise to never let my mental health, my peace of mind, my love inside, my happiness, and how I get through tragedies affect the rest of my life. Your soldiers will not let you go. They will remember you were there to guide them and pull them from battles deeper than we never saw in each other. I will remember all the crazy nights at AT and all the fun we had in Gunnery. Thank you for your Wit & Wisdom. You were Loyal. You were Honest. Hilarious, yet still so serious when it came to completing the Mission. You listened and you led, and that is what great Leaders do. Salute to you LT Walsh May you Rest In Peace.

Mike, “Walshy” was one of the funniest people I met while playing rugby with him at UVM. He was also a complete terror at flanker and a joy to watch play. I’m so saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and soldiers.

I am truly saddened to hear of Mike's passing. The moment we met in the military, we instantly became friends. Two Irish guys from the south shore, always clowning around, who could have imagined we'd hit it off. We both later entered a notoriously difficult officer commissioning program which gut checked your perseverance and determination to endure on an hourly basis. He was always one of those few that when I doubted myself, he picked me up, told me to take it in the face, "embrace the suck", and drive on. He never faltered or ever showed one ounce of weakness that entire time. We both made it and he had me laughing the whole way through. Mike was a straight shooter. He never cared what the "company line" was. If anything conflicted with his own morals, beliefs, or values, he had no problem telling you straight to your face. I always appreciated that about him. My last memory together was sharing burgers and drinks at Jamie's Pub in Scituate. Rest in peace Mike. I am where I am today because of people like you. God Bless buddy. I will miss you.

My condolences to the Walsh Family. Mike was the most genuine person that I have ever met. He lit up every room that he entered and was always good company. I will miss him, but never forget him.

Bubbs... for the years of exciting news about your ice hockey games when you were young, for you and your beautiful wife including my girls at the most beautiful wedding we will ever attend, for sharing the wonderful changes you two made to a home that had nothing but wonderful memories for me, for you service to our country, for sharing pictures of dives I’d never be brave enough to take, for the recaps of precious walks up behind Cunningham park with the dog...these all mattered. You matter. You will be missed.
